The Zometool construction system is used for the recreation and visualisation of structures from chemistry, biology and physics. It is suitable for scientists of all ages, children included. The centrepiece of the system is the node, it connects everything. One node possesses 62 openings in 3 different shapes, at which each opening is only suited for one colour strut. The struts come in three different lengths: super short (0), short (1) and medium (2). B1 for example stands for short blue struts. All sets can be combined – more sets means more possibilities for bigger and more complex models. But a starter set is sufficient to get to know the way Zometool works. Each set comes with a detailed instruction manual including explanations, background information, challenges and instructions. While the instructions are directed more at adults, the building itself is fun for the whole family. Children at school age can therefore use Zometool as well.
